The American Society for Precision Engineering (ASPE) focuses on research, design, development, manufacture and measurement of high accuracy components and systems. This organization's members represent a variety of technical areas - from engineering (mechanical, electrical, optical and industrial) to materials science, physics, chemistry, mathematics and computer science - and are employed in industry, academia and national labs.
I had worked with a constituent company for 10 years, and was asked to help ASPE update their brand identity. The existing elements were outdated, and no longer reflected the increasingly sophisticated nature of their field.
As a premier technical body, ASPE enjoys significant brand recognition. It was important, therefore, that we introduce a new identity that would help them maintain their status. To accomplish this goal, I started by expanding their color palette and modernizing their logo to reflect the precise, technical nature of their business. From there, I designed a clean, web 2.0 site and matching print collateral. www.aspe.net
